The reason for this confusion is that both body parts are intertwined in movement, so often an injury to the Hip Flexor can cause lower back pain and an injury to the lower back can cause Hip Flexor pain.

You will notice that both the lower back and Hip Flexor are often afflicted by the same problems. Poor posture and excessive sitting can cause absolute havoc on both the back and hip region which is why it is recommended that you stretch often if you have a job where you sit for a long period every day.

Another reason pain is also felt in the opposing region is that if you hypothetically injury your Hip Flexor, the lower back muscles have to carry more of a load. Yet another training program, in the form of p90x. I would like to know, does p90x work, as there seems to be massive hype about this 13 week course. The program sees, perhaps as you would expect a lot of emphasis on the physical side of things, where up to 12 different exercise elements take place for 6 days of the week. Additionally there is a very good diet and nutrition element that really focuses the participants on what is good for them, in the 3rd month they are put on the athlete’s diet for example. The makers offer a fairly bold statement along the lines of transforming your body within 90 Days, hopefully the people that spend their money on this program can see some of those results that are suggested. Like anything once you embark on a fitness plan, results are only likely to be seen, if the course is followed to the letter, which means eating the right foods and exercising as instructed, only then can you know, does p90x work.
